People like to celebrate important things and the most common one is New Year celebrations. People all around the world welcome the new year in different ways. Here are some examples from different countries:
Denmark: People keep their old plates until the 31st of December and break them on a friend’s doorstep to bring good luck.

Ecuador: At midnight, they burn scarecrows (objects that look like a person and they are used in a field to scare birds away from crops) and photos from the last year. They believe that it brings them good fortune.

Spain: Spanish New Year’s tradition includes eating grapes. When the clocks hit 12 pm, people eat one grape each time the clock strikes and for each grape, they make a wish.

South Africa: They throw their old furniture out of the window to make a new and different start.

The Philippines: According to their New Year’s tradition, everything should be round (round food, round clothes).Why? Because round things represent coins and they are believed to bring money.

Bolivia: Bolivians bake sweets with coins. The people who find the coins have good luck in the new year.
