Most trainee translators prefer to use a bilingual dictionary. According to the results of a research study, 87,8 % of the student translators use bilingual translations; this rate goes up to 91,8 % for beginner-level students (Sanchez Ramos, 2005). This is the reason why bilingual dictionaries are called ‘translation dictionaries’.
