In the first Industrial Revolution water and steam power were used to mechanize production. When it comes to the second one, main source was electric power for creating mass production. The third one used electronics and information technology to automate production. While the digital revolution that has been occurring since the middle of the last century, now the fourth Industrial Revolution is building on the third one. It is characterized by the combination of technologies that is changing the border lines between the physical, digital, and biological spheres.
